KEY PLAYERS

R. Steven Jackson, President and Chief Executive Officer

In 1987, Jackson began his professional career in transportation with Yellow Freight. From 1988 to 1991, he was employed by Star Leasing as a Sales Representative and rose to the position of Sales Manager. From November 1991 to November 1994, Jackson was employed by Penske Truck Leasing as a Lease Sales Representative. In December 1994, he returned to Star Leasing as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1998, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing; and later to Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer in 2004 to reflect his increased leadership role within Star Leasing. Jackson was named President/Chief Executive Officer in 2012. In addition, Jackson serves as Chairman of the Board for Star Leasing’s Board of Directors. Jackson graduated from Ohio University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. 

Jeffrey H. Rosen, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer 

From 1977 to 1980, Rosen was an auditor and consultant for Price Waterhouse & Co. From 1980 to 1982, he was the accounting manager for Smoot Construction. In 1982, Rosen founded Software One, a computer programming and consulting firm. He joined Star Leasing as a computer programmer in 1998 and became a Controller in 1999. Rosen holds a degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Capital University. He passed the CPA examination in 1978.

Robert D. Beaver, Vice President

Beaver has been in the transportation industry since 1987 when he started as a management trainee for Roadway Express, Inc. He was promoted and held the position of Sales Representative from 1990 to 1995. Beaver joined Star Leasing in 1995 as a Sales Representative. He was promoted to Branch Manager in 1999 at the Columbus, Ohio location; and then to Regional Vice President in November of 2007. Beaver graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration / Management in 1984.

Scott Nelson, Chief Growth Officer

Nelson joined Star Leasing in March of 2017 in the newly created role of Chief Growth Officer. Prior to that, Nelson was the managing partner in a boutique consulting firm, specializing in helping small and mid-size companies achieve peak performance through improved operations, planning, and investment strategy. Nelson was an SVP and General Manager for Element Financial Corp. and is the former President and CEO of Premier Trailer Leasing. He spent over 17 years at GE and GE Capital in various roles of increasing responsibility including seven years at the GE- TIP business unit where he was the SVP for Trailer Leasing. Scott graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering.

Linda S. Tulley, Vice President of Finance

From 1984 to 1985, Tulley was in management training and various management positions with L.S. Ayers. From 1986 to 1988, she was a Budget Analyst for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. In 1988, Tulley joined Star Leasing as an Accountant where she managed all aspects of the internal accounting and back-office operations of Star Leasing. In 1991, she was promoted to Controller. Tulley was promoted to Vice President of Finance in 1993. Tulley graduated from Wittenberg University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She has also completed three semesters of course work at Capital Law School.

Jeffrey D. Egle, Vice President of Major Accounts

Egle has been with Star Leasing since February of 1998 when he joined as the Indianapolis Branch Manager. Before joining Star Leasing, Egle was at Penske Truck Leasing in Toledo for four years working with their major accounts and training sales personnel. Egle learned the trailer leasing business with Rollins where he worked in a variety of positions. His success in building the Indianapolis branch and his experience in the industry provides Star Leasing with a proven leader to support our current and future locations. He is a 1982 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Marketing and Advertising.

James H. Goodwin, Vice President

Goodwin has been with Star Leasing since May 1998. He was hired as the Operations Manager of the Indianapolis Branch. He was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager in October 2001, to Branch Manager in October 2002, and then later to Vice President in November of 2007.  Before joining Star Leasing, Goodwin was with Penske Truck Leasing in Toledo, Ohio and Lansing, Michigan. Previous to Penske, Goodwin attended Oakland Community College before entering into the Insurance field as a Property & Casualty, Life & Health agent at an independent agency in Toledo, Ohio.
