Our History

STAR LEASING MILESTONES

Star Leasing was founded in 1974 in Columbus, Ohio by Lloyd W. Sharp. Originally, the company provided trailers to other trucking interests owned by Sharp. The profitability of leasing, as well as requests by customers to lease trailers, persuaded him to focus on building Star Leasing.

Beginning in 1987, he directed the company’s energy to expand the customer base and equipment. Close attention to the needs of many varied customers provided Star Leasing with the catalyst to begin its significant growth.
