Ohio native, Marley Rutkoski, joined the Star team in September 2020. Marley has spent her career working with companies to reduce complexity for sales teams as they strive to achieve their goals and improve performance. As the Sales Enablement Leader for Star, Marley will build and execute the strategy around sales tools, resources, and sales team development.
Marley is a Columbus, Ohio native who spent the last three years in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband Jason, five-year-old daughter, Alex, and their dog, Max. Marley and her family moved back to Columbus in August 2020 to be closer to their parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marley loves Mexican food and to spend time with family and friends. What do you love the most about the transportation industry?
That, at the end of the day, what we do provides the means by which people get the products or services they need—especially in the time of COVID.
What are three words to describe Star?
Innovative, Safe, Connected.
How do you ensure workplace safety?
With general awareness. I recently walked past a spill near the office water fountain and it took just a minute to clean it up. It takes just a minute but if it prevents someone from slipping, it’s worth it.
What is your favorite TV Show?
Ever? The Golden Girls. It never fails to be quick-witted and the issues are still relevant.
What’s your favorite book?
A yet to be published book by my Best Friend. She’s just finished writing it and I’m very proud of her.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to watch movies, do pilates, and spend time with family and friends. I’ve been playing a lot of Roblox lately with my daughter. I don’t love it, but she does!
What is something people may not know about you?
I have moved four times in four years, so if you need any packing tips—I’ve got ’em! Hint: hire movers!
What is your greatest fear?
Spiders. Oh, and spiders!
Where is your favorite place to be?
My favorite place to travel to is Cabo San Lucas.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
Hire a financial planner!

Cabo San Lucas! Desert… ocean… perfect.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn another language.
Who inspires you?
My mother and grandmother. They taught me to be strong, independent and unafraid.

I see success as understanding your goal and committing to aligning your thoughts and behaviors in a way that gets you closer to, not further, from that goal.
