Meet Technical Analyst Daymond Keefer

Daymond Keefer is one of Star’s Technical Analysts and is located in our corporate office. Daymond has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) as an IT Professional and developer. He is well-versed in Structured Query Language (SQL), Database Designs, Data Mining and Data Analysis. Prior to joining the team at Star, Daymond worked in the Banking and Financial Industry as well as the Insurance and Health Care Industry. As one could tell, Daymond has a passion for Math and Computers, and we’re so happy he has joined the Star team.

What are three words to describe Star?
Stress-free, family, and friendly.

How do you ensure workplace safety?
I pick up stuff and clean if needed, free the isles and be helpful to people!

What is your favorite TV show?
Star Trek. My favorite character is either Spock or Data. They are very intelligent and there is no gray area, it must be logical.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Cutting and etching glass, visiting historical sites, sports, cooking, traveling the United States and target shooting.

What is something people may not know about you?
I was the 2020 50 foot indoor 22 pistol champion for Ohio. Also, I have a secret talent for useless trivia and facts.

What is your greatest fear?
Clowns. I hate them!

Where is your favorite place to be?

Favorite movie line/quote? 
“I find your lack of faith disturbing.” -Star Wars.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
I would buy a motor home and I would travel.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? 
Belize. The beaches were awesome and this really was paradise.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would learn how to fly a plane–then I could go anywhere I wanted!

Who inspires you?
My wife, Melissa. We’ve been married for 25 years and she still impresses me with everything she has done and accomplished. She is truly an amazing person and wears many hats.

What do you love the most about the transportation industry?
The changing environment and learning about all the facets of it.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Anything pasta.

What was the first concert you ever attended?
Black Sabbath 1982, Mob Rules.

What music genre(s) do you like to listen to?
Metal Core, Death Metal and Screamo.

If you could be a TV show character, who would you be and why?
Bert the chimney sweep from Mary Poppins. I am a certified chimney sweep.

Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
“Do or do not. There is no try.”

How do you define success?
It is how you achieved it rather than what you achieved. This will help to define the person that you are.

Dog or cat person?
Cat. We have a Toyger. It’s a cross between a Bengal tiger and a domestic short hair. He is also a polydactyl cat which means he has extra paws on his front paws, almost like thumbs.

Favorite tradition?
Having pasta on the Holidays.

Pineapple pizza… yay or nay?
No way!

Orient, Ohio. It’s in Pickaway County. I went to Teays Valley in Ashville, Ohio.
