David Reckman is the Assistant Branch Manager for Star’s Indianapolis Branch. Before joining the Star team a year and a half ago, David worked in the rental department at a different leasing company for seven years. He held numerous positions at his previous job and eventually became responsible for the three rental branches in the Indianapolis market where he managed more than 1,200 rental trucks, tractors, and trailers. David has an impressive resumé, and we’re very lucky to have him as a member of our team.

Knowledge is power, understanding what is safe and what is not is half of the battle.
What is your favorite TV show? Who’s is your favorite character and why?
Currently, it’s Yellowstone. Kayce Dutton is my favorite character. He sticks to his values and kicks butt when he does it!

What is your favorite book?
A Long Way Gone, The Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah. In college, Ishmael was a guest speaker in a class I had. Not only is it a book that continues to reel you through major events of killing, kidnapping, and love/loss that continues to happen in Sierra Leone– his lifelong struggles of staying alive and finding food brings perspective and appreciation to the life most of us live here in America.
What do you like to do in your free time?
My wife and I like to travel, hang out with our dog Kobe, watch and play sports, and go to concerts whenever they come back.
What is something people may not know about you? Do you have a secret talent?
I graduated from the University of Iowa–Go Hawks!
What is your greatest fear?
Falling off a cliff.
Where is your favorite place to be?
On the water.
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
Pay off all my family and my immediate family’s debt before the remaining majority.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Play the guitar.

My wife, Laura.

Mark Cuban, to understand a day in the life of an owner of a sports team and being one of the world’s most financially successful entrepreneurs.

Anything that’s on!
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Keeping it simple with a cheeseburger and fries.

Rock the Mic Tour: Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Sean Paul and Fabulous.
Dog or cat person?
Dog Person. Kobe is my seven-month-old Aussiedoodle that is extremely full of energy and loves to swim any chance he gets!
