Alyssa Conti joined the Star team earlier this year as one of our Digital Product Owners. In this role, she acts as an advocate for product users—both internal (Star employees) and external users (customers/prospects)—understanding their pain points, goals and daily tasks. Alyssa started her career in the Banking Industry as a Business Systems Analyst. In that role, she worked on several large customer-facing applications and projects. How long have you been at Star?
I’ve been at Star for almost three months. As a Digital Product Owner, I strive to deliver value to Star customers and employees through our online tools!
What are three words to describe Star?
Friendly, honest and adaptive.
How do you ensure workplace safety?
I protect myself and others by keeping a safe distance, wearing a mask, and staying on top of my own health.
What is your favorite TV show? Who’s your favorite character and why?
Friends! I would probably be Phoebe because she is so unapologetically herself.
What is your favorite book?
Books aren’t really my thing. One day though!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love going snowboarding as much as I can in the winter months! Volleyball and ultimate frisbee leagues throughout the year keep me busy and active. I’m a big fan of any live events such as concerts, festivals, and any game, really!
What is something people may not know about you?
I’m the youngest of four siblings. I come from a huge extended family in Youngstown and am frequently discovering new cousins I never knew I had.
What is your greatest fear?
Heights and Spiders equally.
Where is your favorite place to be?
Sitting on the beach!
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
Take care of my family.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Breckenridge Colorado. The mountain views, snowboarding, and small-town were all amazing!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn how to surf!

What do you love the most about the transportation industry?
Change and evolution keep me on my toes with new things to learn!
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chicken Francese and pasta!
What was the first concert you ever attended?
Mac Miller in Pittsburgh.
How do you define success?
Setting goals, working towards them and challenging yourself to learn something new in the process.
Dog or cat person?
Dogs probably… but it’s a close call!
