What are three words to describe Star?
Progressive, transparent, and trusting.

How do you ensure workplace safety?
I ensure work safety by working remotely, wearing a mask when I’m outside in public and I practice social distancing.

What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is Survivor. I found a recent obsession with it, probably in November or December and since then I’ve watched pretty much all of the 34 seasons that are on Hulu. I don’t have a favorite character, but my favorite season is season 32 which is the first season I watched and kick-started my obsession.

What is your favorite book?
My favorite book is The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. I first read it in middle school and I always find myself coming back to it. It’s a story about a woman and her family in Haarlem during the peak of the Holocaust. It really puts your life and the things you take for granted into perspective.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I really enjoy working out and hanging out with friends and family in my free time.

What is something people may not know about you?
Something people may not know about me is I am a house-plant enthusiast. In my room, I’m taking care of around 20 plants. I’m a cool plant mom.

What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is actually being confined in tight spaces (claustrophobia). It stresses me out to answer this question.

Where is your favorite place to be?
Near the ocean/water or honestly outside. I love the outdoors.

Favorite movie line/quote?
“A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.” My favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz and I could probably quote the entire thing if I wanted to. It was hard to pick one!

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
Pay off my student loans! I don’t think I would even have money left from the lottery to do anything else, but if I did, the next thing would be to pay off my parent’s house and buy my own.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
I had the opportunity to travel to Germany during my undergrad and China during the MBA program, but both got canceled due to the pandemic. So I wish I had a better place to say, but I guess the next best place is Hawaii when I was super young, like six years old. We traveled there when my sister was on her high school softball team, but I have a lot of good memories believe it or not. One of my favorite places we visited was the Pearl Harbor National Memorial.

If given a chance, who would you want to be/what would you want to do for a day?
I am obsessed with beauty products. Skincare, haircare, make-up, you name it! I would love to be in the lab creating some beauty products for a day.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Learn another language. I didn’t take it as seriously as I should have in high school and I’m kicking myself for not doing so! Five years of Spanish and all I can say is simple sentences.

Who inspires you?
My dad. He’s my best friend and has always been someone I’ve looked up to since my very first day on this earth. He and my mom are both amazing people and I’m lucky to have two great parents that inspire me and support me.

What do you love the most about the transportation industry?
I love that while it’s definitely an older industry, there are so many opportunities to be at the forefront of industry innovation, especially at Star.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Skyline Chili. If I had one up in Cleveland I would eat it every day.

What was the first concert you ever attended?
Jason Aldean at our county fair before he was famous.

What music genre(s) do you like to listen to?
I’ll listen to pretty much anything. My favorites are rap/country/whatever is on the radio.

If you could be a TV show character, who would you be and why?
If I was a character on a TV show I think I would be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. My friends have always compared me to her. I love fashion and have always been fascinated with New York City so I guess it makes sense.

Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Not necessarily inspirational, but something my dad has said to me since I was a little girl and has always stuck with me is: “Nothing is ever as bad as it seems, but nothing is ever as good as it seems either.” It keeps me humble!

How do you define success?
Obviously in marketing and other fields, there are certain data that will literally define success. But I know I’m my own biggest critic. So when I walk away from any situation or project, and I feel good and confident in myself, that’s how I define my own success.

Dog or cat person?
I’ve always grown up around cats, my parents have two at home. I knew I would always get a dog the second I was able to. So I guess I’m a dog person. My boyfriend and I are adopting an Aussiedoodle within the next few weeks and we couldn’t be more excited!

Favorite tradition?
My family doesn’t have many traditions, so the one we do have, by default, is my favorite. My mom buys everyone in the family matching pajamas for Christmas Eve. We’ll open one Christmas gift on Christmas eve, and go to bed, and wake up on Christmas morning and open the rest of the gifts in our PJ’s.

Pineapple pizza… yay or nay?
I’ll eat it if that’s the only option available. I would never order it on my own- I’m a cheese-pizza only type of girl.

Where are you from?
Lima, Ohio.
