Ohio native, Aaron Settepanella, joined the Star team in November 2019 as our IT Production Support Manager. Prior to Star, he worked for a major local company as their IT Service Desk Manager. In that role, he led a team of 30+ that handled Lv1 and Lv2 support. In addition to his IT management experience, Aaron owned his own insurance agency and spent a decade in bowling center management. Caring, Family, Supportive.
How do you ensure workplace safety?
This has been a challenge with Covid since, in some cases, my team needs to provide in-person support. With that said, precautions like wearing a mask and maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet have been key to staying safe.
What is your favorite TV Show?
Currently, my favorite show is “The Mandalorian.” My Favorite character is “The Child” a.k.a. Grogu but I have to say I am disappointed that his name doesn’t start with a “Y” like Yoda or Yaddle.
What’s your favorite book?
Anything related to Star Wars.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to bowl, hike, bike, cook, and to do some woodworking.
What is something people may not know about you?
I am very handy around the house, I like to build and repair things myself when I can.
What is your greatest fear?
In the past, speaking in front of large groups has been one of my greatest fears. With that said, I have been actively working on overcoming this by volunteering to speak at several events.
Where is your favorite place to be?
Either in nature or at home.
Favorite movie line/quote?
Anything from the movie Spaceballs. I named my Roomba “MegaMaid.”
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do?
I would pay off my Mother’s house.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Colorado—the view from Pikes Peak and the trip through the Garden of the Gods were amazing.
If given a chance, who would you want to be/what would you want to do for a day?
I would love to be a Chopped judge for a day and getting to try things that the average person never gets to.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would like to learn how to fly a plane.
Who inspires you?
I have been inspired by several past managers—they have influenced the way that I would like to lead my team.
What do you love the most about the transportation industry?
The fact that you can see how what we do has a direct impact on so many other industries.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I am a foodie and like to try new things… I couldn’t choose, I would like to continue trying something new all the time.
What was the first concert you ever attended?
This goes way back but my first concert would have been Sha Na Na.
What music genre(s) do you like to listen to?
I currently listen to Country music.
If you could be a TV show character, who would you be and why?
MacGyver—I like to take on a challenge and come up with creative solutions.

How do you define success?
Success for me is to have my team succeed… and that comes when we delight our customers and exceed their expectations.
Dog or cat person?
Growing up I was a dog person but I was converted to a cat person by my wife. We had two long-haired Persian cats for 18 years. They both passed about two years ago.

Sometimes…but there are so many other options why limit yourself?!
